Gozo’s Public Transport Service Now Fully Electric Following €11 Million Investment
The Leave Bank serves as a means through which public officers may support colleagues facing challenging circumstances due to medical or other humanitarian issues. This includes serious health conditions which impede the employees from performing their work, or the need to travel abroad to receive medical treatment or accompany a family relative whilst receiving such treatment.
In 2024, a total of 189 employees benefitted from approximately 53,000 hours made available through this initiative.
This Central Fund is one of several measures that reflect the Public Administration’s ongoing commitment in safeguarding employees’ welfare. The Administration offers a range of measures that promote work-life balance, together with services designed to protect employees’ well-being and mental health.
This scheme enables public employees to voluntarily contribute their leave or time-off hours to a central fund. These donated hours are then processed and allocated on humanitarian grounds to colleagues who are in need of such support.
All public employees are encouraged to consider making a contribution as every donation counts. Individuals may contact the Human Resources Department within their respective Ministry for further information on the donation process or on how they may benefit from this measure, subject to the applicable eligibility criteria.
Employees may also call the One-Stop-Shop for public officers on 22001225 or send an email to [email protected] for more information.
