The People and Standards Division represent the Public Service employees directly and give them the power to achieve excellence of service across the wider Public Administration. With its holistic approach, the Division assures an attention to detail, direction and equal priority towards all who need their services.
Our goal is to unite governing policies with the principles defining the public service in accordance with the Public Service Act - accountability, good governance and transparency. We assist the Public Service in the preparation and implementation of their agenda, evaluation of their implementation, management and improved performance.
The Institute for the Public Services has a central role in managing the Public Service employees, and is mainly in charge of staff development initiatives. The Institute is the focal point and source of all Public Officers’ personal development programmes, as well as research initiatives for the Malta Public Service.
The Department of Information (DOI) is in charge of keeping the public informed with all the latest, comprehensive news regarding governance, Government services and activities of public interest, and to promote the image of the Public Service and Malta.
The Employee Support Programme provides a wide range of free and confidential support and therapy services to public employees to assist them with their work and personal lives.
