Gozo’s Public Transport Service Now Fully Electric Following €11 Million Investment
A new online service has been launched to simplify searches related to the existence of secret wills, marking another important step towards more modern, efficient and accessible justice services.
Through this digital service, a process that was previously carried out manually and could take between two and three weeks can now be completed in just a few minutes. Citizens and professionals can submit their request from their office or home, while the certificate with the result is issued immediately.
The service applies to cases where, following a person’s death, it is necessary to verify whether a secret will exists. If the search result is positive, a lawyer or notary may request its publication according to law.
Last year, more than 13,000 requests for secret will searches were submitted, showing the importance of this service for the public and legal professionals.
This initiative further strengthens efforts towards a more digital and efficient justice system, while helping employees within the Court of Voluntary Jurisdiction to focus more on cases that require deeper analysis and judgment.
The new service is a concrete example of how technology can be used responsibly to improve public services and reduce bureaucracy for citizens.
