WORK STARTS ON THE 2023 BUDGET

Date 31.10.2022
Time 5 minutes

The Public Service started its work to distribute the Budget 2023 measures presented last Monday, among the respective Ministries and immediately start their implementation.

An action plan is prepared for each measure, detailing how the measure will be put in place. Subsequently, the Public Service Implementation Directorate starts to monitor progress regularly, starting to report periodically also for consideration of the cabinet of Ministers.

This ensures that what is promised in the budget speech is actually delivered. Indeed, in recent years the Public Service has always had strong rates of implementation, with a detailed report on implementation being published annually in October, also accessible on the Public Service website. It is worth mentioning that outstanding measures from previous budgets remain under the focus until they are also carried out.

The Public Service also undertakes an exercise to align each budget measure with the sustainable development goals (SDGs). In this context, Malta has been ranked 33 best out of 165 countries.
