Gozo’s Public Transport Service Now Fully Electric Following €11 Million Investment
A workshop organised by the Building and Construction Authority focused on the Construction Industry Skill Cards and their key role in strengthening skills within the construction sector. The event brought together industry stakeholders, training experts and national institutions, highlighting the importance of certification, continuous training and addressing skills gaps in the labour market.
It was noted that reform in the construction sector must go beyond regulatory change and be supported by a cultural shift that enhances professionalism, safety and accountability. A safer and more sustainable future for the sector can only be achieved through a skilled, trained and certified workforce capable of adapting to evolving standards and technologies.
The Construction Industry Skill Card will become mandatory for anyone working on construction sites once a comprehensive regulatory framework is fully in place. Ongoing efforts are underway to ensure workers receive the necessary health and safety training, as part of a wider vision for a modern, safe and sustainable construction industry.
