​Most of Man’s actions affect the environment; carbon footprint is a way of measuring this impact. The Public Service has a role to play in this respect.

Transport being a major pollutant, in recent years the Public Service introduced the concept of bringing government services closer to the community, thus eliminating the need to travel.

It is no longer necessary to go to Valletta and traipse from one department to another, because now there are 24 servizz.gov hubs in different towns and villages where one finds government services gathered under one roof. Government services may also be accessed online in the comfort of one’s home, or else through freephone 153!
