​One of the Public Service's goals is that existing public buildings shall start following a set of guidelines to increase efficiency in water and energy use, while new buildings are constructed in such a way as to meet the highest environmental standards.

These include renewable energy installations, potential green roofs, and other nature-based solutions aimed at mitigating climate change, such as more trees wherever possible for carbon sequestration, a capacity increase in water storage through wells and reservoirs, and an ecological infrastructure that provides shade and combats the Urban Heat Island Effect.

These new initiatives shall further increase the sustainability of the Public Service and its buildings, towards a better environment.
