​​The Public Service is launching a new initiative through which, in a coordinated manner, it shall reduce the waste that is generated within it whilst ensuring that generated waste is separated appropriately.

By means of waste stewards at each ministry and focal points in each building, information is currently being gathered regarding existing practices in government departments. This information shall be evaluated, laying the groundwork for a set of guidelines and best practices leading to waste reduction through monitoring and to an increase in waste separation. Courses will also be held to increase awareness.​

Each public officer will thus be doing his or her part towards a more sustainable Public Service.
