Gozo’s Public Transport Service Now Fully Electric Following €11 Million Investment
The Housing Authority offers continuous support to all those who buy their first property through various schemes aimed at encouraging more youths to become homeowners.
Primarily, the First-time buyers scheme is benefiting anyone who acquired property from January 2022 onwards. Every individual falling under this scheme will be receiving a grant of one thousand euro per year for ten years amounting to ten thousand euro. An initiative which will continue to guarantee stability and affordability in the sector and peace of mind to Gozitan and Maltese youths.
Such an initiative will automatically ease the financial pressures that an individual goes through to buy his first property. This while not limiting a person from continuing to progress in his or her life and professional career.
To qualify for this scheme, the property has to be purchased with a home loan with one of the Maltese banks while the same property has to be registered as the applicant's main residence. Applications may be submitted by April after the property has been acquired. That is if a person bought his home in 2024, he has a chance to apply for this scheme by April of the year 2025.
To date, this initiative has been positively welcomed so much so that around five thousand and two hundred individuals and families have registered for it.
The Housing Authority is committed to continue offering more assistance to all sectors of society, with the main aim being to remain efficiency and services accessible to buyers.
