Salini – Where Nature, Heritage and Recreation Meet
What could be better than spending a day meeting the people who produce our food, sampling local products and enjoying Maltese entertainment? On Sunday, 11 October, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pitkalija in Ta’ Qali will once again welcome the public to Festa Ikel Malti, organised by the Malta Food Agency.
Food producers from Malta and Gozo will take centre stage throughout the day. Visitors will be able to discover a wide range of products, sample different flavours and meet the people behind our country’s food. It is an opportunity to learn more about local products and the work involved in bringing them to our tables.
The kitchen will also come alive with live cooking sessions. Expert chefs will prepare dishes using local ingredients right in front of visitors and share ideas on how to enjoy these products at home.
The programme will feature traditional dance performances, performing arts and entertainment throughout the day. Local organisations will also have the opportunity to share their work and initiatives with the public.
There will be plenty to keep children entertained too, including a children’s train, sand crafts, a trampoline, a bouncy castle, a chance to meet Fonzu l-Fenek, and many more games and activities. With something for every age, it promises to be a fun day out for the whole family.
Admission to Festa Ikel Malti is free, and a park-and-ride service will also be available.
Save the date: Sunday, 11 October, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pitkalija in Ta’ Qali.
Join us in celebrating Maltese food and the people who make it all possible.
Come hungry!
