Works Begin on New €75 Million Organic Processing Plant
The Malta Food Agency invites you to the Festa Ikel Malti (Maltese Food Festival), which will be held on Sunday, 12th October, between 10:00am and 5:00pm at the Pitkalija, Ta’ Qali. This exciting event will be a vibrant celebration of local food, culture, and entertainment – the perfect outing for families, food lovers, and anyone wishing to experience the best that Malta has to offer.
After the great success of last year’s edition, which attracted thousands of visitors, this year’s festival is expected to be bigger and even more appealing. In 2024, people from all walks of life attended to enjoy Malta’s culinary delights and cultural performances, and the Malta Food Agency is busy preparing once again to provide a space where tradition and community spirit come together.
At the heart of the festival are local food producers, who will showcase their passion and dedication through a wide range of traditional and contemporary products. Visitors will have the chance to explore authentic flavours, learn more about Malta’s gastronomic heritage, and meet the people who bring it to life.
The festival will also include live cooking sessions, giving audiences the opportunity to see expert chefs in action. These demonstrations will highlight the richness of Maltese ingredients and the creativity that defines local cuisine, turning the kitchen into a lively, inspiring show.
Beyond food, the event will shine a spotlight on the invaluable work of local organisations, celebrating the cultural and community initiatives that shape Malta’s identity.
No Maltese festival is complete without traditional dance, performing arts, and spectacle. Throughout the day, visitors can expect a lively program of performances that capture the spirit of Malta’s heritage. With entertainment designed for all ages, there will be something to please every member of the family. There will also be plenty of activities for children, including trampolines, a fun bus, sand art, a kids’ train, and Fonzu the Rabbit!
The Festa Ikel Malti is completely free of charge. With free entry and a convenient park-and-ride service, the festival is open and accessible to everyone.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, 12th October, and join us for the Festa Ikel Malti, a celebration of flavour, tradition, and togetherness, brought to you by the Malta Food Agency.
